Dr. Rod J. Rohrich Receives the Distinguished Service Award in Plastic Surgery
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) November 15, 2016 -- Dallas plastic surgeon, Dr. Rod J. Rohrich, has been chosen to receive the Plastic Surgery Foundation's highest honor, the Distinguished Service Award in plastic surgery. Recipients of the Distinguished Service Award are recognized for their exceptional dedication and contributions to the field of plastic surgery in education, research, and clinical practice. The Award was presented at the Foundation's annual Board of Directors Dinner earlier this year in Los Angeles.
"I'm deeply honored to have received this prestigious award," says Dr. Rohrich, who is the only plastic surgeon who has received this award more than once in his career. "The importance of the work done by the Plastic Surgery Foundation has been instrumental in helping improve the quality of plastic surgery over the years, and I'm proud to be recognized by this esteemed organization for my contributions to plastic surgery."
Through its humanitarian efforts, grants, and support of clinical research, the Plastic Surgery Foundation strives for the advancement of plastic surgery initiatives that lead to better, safer patient outcomes and improved patient care within plastic surgery.
Dr. Rohrich has been a longstanding, devoted advocate for both the advancement of plastic surgery for improved patient safety and consistency in outcomes, an important consideration in all of plastic surgery. A large portion of Dr. Rohrich's patients seek him out for secondary surgeries, often the result of bad or unfortunate outcomes from their primary surgeries. Over half of his rhinoplasty patients in Dallas, for example, come to him seeking revision rhinoplasty surgery from a previous rhinoplasty which had a unsatisfactory outcome. Dr. Rohrich has also advocated for more evidence based outcome research and publications in the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, of which he serves as Editor-in-Chief.
