Dublin to Host LocWorld – Conference Examines How to Engage Global Customers
(PRWEB) May 18, 2016 -- More than 600 global business executives from 45 countries are expected to attend this summer’s LocWorld conference in Dublin, June 8-10.
The conference, which features nine tracks related to “Know-How for Global Success,” has a special focus on engaging global customers.
LocWorld brings together delegates who are engaged in the business of adapting products, services and communications to an international language or culture so as to appear native to that particular region. Speakers at the conference include representatives from Adobe Systems, Dropbox, Electronic Arts Europe, Facebook, GetYourGuide, Google, IBM, Lenovo, Microsoft, Oracle, Sage Software, Inc., Xerox and many others.
The conference, produced by MultiLingual Computing, Inc. and The Localization Institute, will be held at The Convention Centre Dublin (CCD), Ireland’s world-class conference and event venue.
“We’re excited about returning to Dublin,” says Donna Parrish, publisher of the magazine MultiLingual and co-organizer of LocWorld. “We held LocWorld here two years ago. It was our largest European conference thus far and we expect this year to be even more successful. Dublin has a long and deep connection to the localization industry and the CCD is a amazing facility that makes the event even more special for attendees.”
Paul O’Dea, CEO, Select Strategies, will deliver the keynote, “The Growth Transformer’s Roadmap: Seize Opportunities — Surmount Challenges.” O’Dea has cofounded and helped build several international companies. Since making the switch from entrepreneur to business advisor in 2000, he has worked with hundreds of CEOs in investor-backed companies.
The preconference day will include round tables on sales and marketing, life sciences business, game localization and growth strategies. There will also be an initiative on developing talent, localization for startups and several more sessions.
“We’ve increased the number of preconference events which are great for experienced professionals who want to hone their skills and broaden their knowledge,” says Ulrich Henes, conference co-organizer and president of The Localization Institute. “We also offer opportunities for those who are new to the localization industry.”
Attendees may choose from nine tracks during the main conference: Advanced Localization Management, Content Strategy, Core Competencies, Global Business, Inside Track, Language Service Providers, TAUS, Technical, and Unconference.
Some highlighted presentations include:
• Linguistic Solutions For Crisis Relief
• Accent and Augment: How to Drive International Glocal Content
