eChoice Takes Out 'Best Digital Presence' at the Australian Broking Awards
Sydney, New South Wales (PRWEB) August 27, 2013 -- With more than 5,700 mortgage brokerage businesses in Australia, eChoice, an award-winning financial service provider, has added another accolade to its ever-growing collection of industry awards. However, it has been a long time between acknowledgements for the company, which despite being a finalist for various awards since 2006, has not taken out first prize in 7 years due to stiff competition from other firms.
eChoice which is a division of the Firstfolio Group, which manage circa $19 billion in loans, was one of five candidates for 'Best Digital Presence' at the Australian Broking Awards. This prestigious annual event held by The Adviser, a mortgage industry magazine owned by Sterling Publishing, a BRW fast-100 business, focuses on leading Australian brokers and brokerage firms by recognising industry leaders and professionalism within the industry.
Peter Andronicos, eChoice General Manager, said that the company had been nominated for four awards.
"We were nominated and were finalists for Best IT Platform, Best Marketing, Best Digital Presence and Best Brokerage Non-franchise," said Andronicos.
"We won Best Digital. It was our first award since 2006, so we were thrilled," he said.
But if you're thinking that taking out a mortgage brokerage award is a pleasant stroll in the park, then think again. The process for award allocation is stringent. Firstly, the brokerage firm must be nominated for an award, then they have to meet selection criteria and provide evidence as to why they are suitable for the award. Lastly, a panel of 12 judges selects a winner from the submissions for each category after conducting extensive interviews.
This year's judges included Fariborz Moshirian, professor of finance and director of the Institute of Global Finance at the School of Business UNSW; Nigel Stevenson, engagement partner, Assurance and Advisory Business Services at Ernst and Young; and Bridget Sakr, chief commercial officer at Genworth Financial.
eChoice is hoping this award is one of many to come as 2013 begins to wind down and 2014 comes into focus.
