Eddie M. Leung Shares His Testimony As a Survivor of Cancer
San Diego (PRWEB) August 30, 2014 -- Cancer is a life-changing illness that affects both patients and their loved ones and caretakers. Author Eddie M. Leung knows the suffering that patients go through; he was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma or bile duct cancer, a very rare and aggressive form of cancer. In his new book, “The Year That Changed My Life” (published by Xlibris), he shares a glimpse into his struggles as a cancer patient but more importantly, he imparts a survivor’s testimony that this disease can be overcome.
“The Year That Changed My Life” is a firsthand account of a cancer survivor’s experiences and subsequent victory over this debilitating condition. With hard won wisdom and clarity, Leung describes the psychological, physical and spiritual challenges that he had to undergo; including Whipple surgery, six months of chemo and radiation therapies and blood infection. He also talks about the things that gave him strength and comfort during this difficult episode. The resulting book is both a personal diary and a helpful trove of preventive and survival tips.
“I was encouraged by my doctors and many of my friends to write this book,” Leung says, “It tells us that we need to be prepared to fight cancer, that cancer can be beaten and that life is precious… It talks about the changes that came to my life as a result of this experience. The book also underlines the power of the human spirit, importance of good friendship and the power of faith in God.”
Timely and ultimately triumphant, “The Year That Changed My Life” is a must-read for cancer patients, their caretakers and loved ones and even medical professionals who wish to better understand the psychological and physical struggles of their patients.
