Energy Storage Initiative Project Moves Full Steam Ahead this November with Stakeholders from Con Edison, NYSERDA, Booz Allen Hamilton & More
New York, NY (PRWEB) November 14, 2013 -- Storage has been one of the star players in the energy industry for quite some time now, and is posed to be a game changer in the clean energy revolution. Distributed Energy Storage (DES) has the potential to enable utilities to retain power that would otherwise be lost and simultaneously keep the grid functioning in the event of a supply shortage, making it an essential piece in the sustainability puzzle.
In August 2013, AGRION – the global business network for energy, cleantech, and sustainability – launched its Energy Storage Initiative, a working group of professionals from leading organizations invested in streamlining and promoting energy storage. The task force aims to create a comprehensive framework in the form of a dedicated website resource and platform. This live-website will outline the technologies, processes and opportunities in the New York metro-area storage market, and guide facility managers, users, technology & service providers, and the public along the energy storage chain with updated information on incentives, financing, business case modeling, and more. “We have assembled a dream team of stakeholders bent on pushing the energy storage market into gear in New York City. We need DES for resiliency here, and this project will move the needle, with or without the support of favorable policy,” says Nicholas J. Davis, Managing Director of AGRION Americas.
On November 19th in New York City, AGRION will hold a meeting to give an update on the progress of the task force. Initiative group leaders from NYSERDA, Chadbourne & Parke, NY Battery & Energy Storage Technology Consortium (NY-BEST), Safari Energy, and Viridity Energy will inform the audience about the current state of the market and provide details on this innovative project.
