Famed Director Presents Pre-Halloween “Exists” and “The Blair Witch Project” Double Feature
Frederick, MD (PRWEB) October 09, 2014 -- Hollywood meets Frederick this Halloween with an exclusive double feature event. Famed director of found footage classic “The Blair Witch Project” Eduardo Sanchez and the Frederick Film Office are hosting a charity double feature screening of “Exists” and “The Blair Witch Project.”
The event will be held Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. at the Holiday Cinemas, 100 Baughmans Lane, Frederick, MD 21702. The screening will feature a happy hour beginning at 6:00pm followed by a screening of “The Blair Witch Project” at 7:00 pm. After a brief intermission, “Exists” will begin screening at 9:00 pm with a Q & A about both films with Director Eduardo Sanchez immediately after. All net proceeds will be donated to Frederick Memorial Hospital’s Cancer Patient Assistance fund via the JoAnn Garrett Foundation.
“Exists” follows five friends on a camping weekend in the remote woods of Texas as they struggle to survive against the fabled predator Bigfoot. After premiering at SXSW earlier this year, Lionsgate Entertainment immediately acquired the film. It was the first film picked up at the festival, as well as the first and only screening of the film to date. The film has already garnered plenty of attention, receiving the Midnighters Award at SXSW and the Award of the Youth at the Cannes Film Festival. “Exists” will be available On Demand October 24th. Check your local cable or Satellite Provider.
“I’m very excited to show the film to my hometown crowd,” says Sanchez. “They will not be disappointed. You’ve never seen Bigfoot until you’ve seen him in ‘Exists.’” Carl Glorioso, director of the Frederick Film Office said. “Films like ‘The Blair Witch Project’ and ‘Exists’ highlight the caliber of filmmakers and filmmaking in the area. Holiday Cinemas is equipped with state of the art, HD projectors and sound, perfectly suited for films such as these to be viewed. Audience members are in for a nail biting, edge of their seat evening, just in time for Halloween.”
Tickets are only $10 each for the double feature. Limited seating is available to this exclusive event. To purchase tickets, visit http://www.mdtix.com. For updated event information, please visit: http://bit.ly/existblair
