File & ServeXpress Expands Legal E-Filing and E-Service to New Delaware Court
Irving, TX (PRWEB) October 07, 2015 -- File & ServeXpress, the pioneer of electronic filing and service for the legal communities, brings statewide e-Filing to the Delaware Register of Wills. With the addition of the Sussex County Register of Wills, e-Filing is now fully adopted across all of Delaware’s Register of Wills offices.
The Register of Wills in Sussex County went live with all active cases on the docket on July 1st. “I’m enthusiastic about anything that saves time and money, especially when we use less paper,” said Register of Wills, Cindy Green. “Everyone benefits, attorneys, taxpayers and the grieving families that use this office," Green said.
This is a significant expansion for the Court which began electronic filing in 2003. “Since the idea of e-Filing was introduced, Delaware has been a leader in taking advantage of what the technology has to offer the courts and law firms alike,” said Karlis Johnson, Court Administrator for the Court of Chancery. “With the implementation of e-Filing at the Sussex County Register of Wills the Court has achieved the goal of having all cases under its jurisdiction filed electronically.”
The File & ServeXpress system allows for comprehensive e-Filing, e-Service and document management services, eliminating the costly overhead and excessive time required to copy, process and deliver thousands of paper documents each year. In addition, e-Filing and e-Service provide a much higher level of document security than that of legacy technologies such as e-mail.
Delaware, the first state to implement e-Filing, now boasts one of the most comprehensive e-Filing systems in the nation, which began in 1991 with the Superior Court and later with the addition of both the Court of Chancery and Supreme Court. More recently, in 2012 the New Castle County Register of Wills began e-Filing, followed by Kent County in 2013 and now Sussex County completing the statewide rollout.
