Gregory’s Fresh Market Presents Third Annual Senior Awards Luncheon
PHOENIX (PRWEB) September 03, 2014 -- Gregory’s Fresh Market (GFM), a division of Diana Gregory Outreach Services Foundation and a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, announces its Third Annual Senior Awards Luncheon. The event convenes at 11:30 a.m., Friday, September 26th at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Phoenix, and will be emceed by Susan Casper, Host of Sonora Living Live on ABC 15. This year’s theme, “Transforming Lives through Health and Fitness,” will focus on how positive healthcare and fitness can reverse the health crisis in America. Proceeds from the Awards Luncheon will be used to provide bags of fresh produce to seniors, and fund senior nutrition health programs in the Greater Phoenix area.
Some of the honorees for this year’s Awards Luncheon include Outstanding Fitness Award Recipient Mrs. Ernestine Shepherd, "The Guinness World Record Oldest Female Body Builder." Mr. Calvin Goode, former City Council Member and current advocate for senior affordable housing, will be presented with the Dick Gregory Humanitarian Award. Dr. Gladys McGarey, known as the “Mother of Holistic Medicine,” will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award recognizing her accomplishments in the healthcare and medical industries. Local seniors and service coordinators will also be honored.

GFM initiated its first Senior Awards Luncheon in 2012 to celebrate the organization’s progress towards its mission of senior support, to acknowledge the accomplishments of local seniors served by GFM, and honor the service of coordinators who provide them with quality residential care.
GFM has committed resources to fulfilling its mission to improve the lives of senior citizens in the Greater Phoenix area. It has helped more than 5,000 seniors to experience a better quality of life by offering a variety of new and established programs.
