iKey Announces Snap-On Keyboard Designed Exclusively for Newly-Released Galaxy Tab Active2 Rugged Tablet
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) November 01, 2017 -- iKey, LTD announces a new snap-on keyboard designed with Samsung exclusively for the new Galaxy Tab Active2 tablet, which was just made public by Samsung on October 19, 2017. The iKey keyboard is in the final design stage and will be available for purchase through Samsung and Samsung dealers later this year.
The iKey rugged snap-on keyboard is built to military specifications and IP54 standards. The keyboard provides an excellent typing experience and includes both a USB-C Charging port for charging the tablet without the need to remove the keyboard and an external battery slot which will fit the Galaxy Tab Active2 battery (sold separately).
The keyboard’s unique military specifications include MIL-STD-810 high/low temperature storage, vibration, and mechanical shock specifications. The keyboard allows for red backlighting and backlighting color can be customized, and the keyboard is NVIS compatible.
The Galaxy Tab Active2 helps accelerate the digital transformation of key industries by offering a wider range of features such as biometrics integration, multi-window screens and S Pen capabilities that function in extreme working conditions, ultimately improving worker productivity and flexibility.
As Samsung stated in their recent press release, Samsung has partnered with iKey and other companies to build rugged accessories, with the goal of building a wider partner ecosystem for its products designed for verticals such as transportation, public safety and manufacturing.

This new keyboard is the second rugged keyboard designed by iKey in 2017 for Samsung products. The iKey BT-870-TP keyboard with integrated battery and integrated touchpad has dual connectivity, providing connection via USB or Bluetooth™.
