Ingram's MyiLibrary Platform Available to More Libraries through SirsiDynix eResource Central
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) June 27, 2014 -- Ingram Content Group Inc., today announced a collaboration with SirsiDynix to expand the reach and simplify the discovery and delivery of e-content to more libraries worldwide. Ingram will integrate its MyiLibrary® e-book platform with SirsiDynix eResource Central to provide libraries convenient access to more than 500,000 titles.
“Integrating the breadth of digital content from our MyiLibrary platform with SirsiDynix's eResource Central will help more content be easily discovered by mutual library customers," said Dan Sheehan, Vice President and General Manager, Ingram Library Services Inc. "We are pleased to work with SirsiDynix to improve digital experiences for libraries worldwide."
SirsiDynix provides a full range of collection development tools for libraries. eResource Central, SirsiDynix's electronic content management solution, provides access to e-books and other eResources across multiple vendors through a single user interface. The addition of MyiLibrary content to eResource Central will strengthen the breadth of content available through eResource Central and substantially increase the number of digital titles that libraries and their patrons can discover and borrow. Titles are expected to be available on eResource Central in Q3 of 2014.
For libraries, eResource Central enables cost savings and simplifies the process of delivering content from multiple sources and formats to users by managing licensing and access rights; automatically updating metadata for library e-resources; integrating e-resource usage into circulation reporting; and managing electronic content acquisition and delivery.
"We are pleased that through our work with a leading content provider like Ingram, more content will be available for thousands of libraries and library users worldwide to enjoy," said Bill Davison, Chief Executive Officer, SirsiDynix. "eResource Central bridges the gap between content providers and users, enabling libraries to manage and deliver e-resources seamlessly and cost-effectively all from one location."
Thousands of public, academic and professional libraries around the world use Ingram's MyiLibrary platform, and readers enjoy access to more than 500,000 titles. Libraries benefit from a full range of purchasing options, from single-title acquisitions to genre-specific subject collections.
