International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) Names Lauren F. McKelvey 2014 Rising Star
Fairfax, VA (PRWEB) October 17, 2014 -- The International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC), the premier international, networking and professional growth organization for women in the restructuring and insolvency industry, announced today that it has awarded Lauren F. McKelvey, Wiley Rein LLP, and IWIRC Newsletter Director and Co-Chair of the Washington D.C. network, its 2014 Rising Star Award. Ms. McKelvey, chosen among 5 other finalists and 13 nominees, was recognized during IWIRC’s Annual Fall Conference Luncheon in Chicago, Illinois on October 8, 2014.
A successful attorney specializing in bankruptcy, litigation and transactional matters, with a particular interest in international insolvency issues, Ms. McKelvey has given tirelessly to IWIRC, most recently as Newsletter Director where she acts as editor and oversees publishing. In addition, she has served as Co-Chair of the Washington D. C. network since 2012 and, in that role, has led growth and educational initiatives that have resulted in network expansion.
“I am honored to be named the Rising Star of IWIRC—an organization that has made great strides in promoting women in the intense and fast-paced fields of bankruptcy and restructuring—and am looking forward to many more years of involvement in IWIRC,” said Lauren.
“Lauren has shown initiative and dedication always going above and beyond. We are very appreciative of her contributions and commitment,” said Beth Hansen, Chair, IWIRC Board of Directors.
The Rising Star Award is bestowed upon an IWIRC member with eight or less years of experience in her respective field, who has made considerable contributions to her professional success and displayed a high-level of commitment to advancing IWIRC’s mission—enhancing the professional status of women in the insolvency and restructuring profession—at the local, national and/or international levels.
