Inventor Develops Utensil for Individuals with Limited Mobility (POO-313)
PITTSBURGH (PRWEB) December 13, 2017 -- PITTSBURGH..."Having tremors makes it difficult for me to feed myself with a traditional fork because the food often falls off the tines," said one of two inventors from Vancouver, Wash. "I came up with this modified utensil to ensure that the food remains in place so that the user can eat without help."
They created a prototype for the FORK FOR SHAKY HANDS to ensure that food remains on the utensil and does not fall off. This makes it easier for the individual to eat. The design enables the user to feed him- or herself without having to ask for assistance, which promotes a more independent lifestyle. The utensil lessens stress at mealtimes. In addition, it is ideal for use by individuals with limited mobility brought about by Parkinson’s, tremors, disabilities, etc.
The original design was submitted to the Portland office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
