Kids II Sponsors Strong Legs Run to Benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
(PRWEB) October 29, 2013 -- For the 29th consecutive year, Atlanta-area residents are gearing up for the Kids II Strong Legs Run benefiting Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. The race includes a 10K qualifier for the 2014 Peachtree Road Race, 5K, 2K Fun Run and Stroller Roll and Mascot Trot. With more than 5,000 runners each year, the Kids II Strong Legs Run is one of Atlanta's largest and most popular road races.
Children's is pleased to partner with Kids II, who returns as the title sponsor of the race for the third straight year. Headquartered in Atlanta, Kids II has been inventing and reinventing baby and infant toys and gear for more than 40 years. Kids II designs, markets and distributes more than 400 products under its family of brands: Bright Starts™, Ingenuity™ and Comfort & Harmony™, Disney™, Baby Einstein™, Oball™ and Taggies™.
“At Kids II, our passion extends much further than the products we make,” says Tara King, Director of Corporate Communications and Foundation leader for Kids II. “We’re committed to making a difference in everything we do and we’re able to do that through partnerships with organizations like Children’s that share similar values, purpose and mission. We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Children’s and are looking forward to another successful Strong Legs Run.”
In keeping with Kids II’s innovation and drive to always deliver something unique and fun, the company was excited to add a new twist this year, according to King. New in 2013, Kids II and Children's held a design contest for the long-sleeved T-shirt each race participant receives. More than 700 entries were submitted, and 13-year-old Joanna Frazier of Marietta, Ga., won with a design that includes well-known images of Atlanta, along with Children's mascots Hope and Will.
The race begins at Turner Field, and strollers are welcome. Awards will be presented to top finishers in the 5K and 10K races.
