Marion Body Works Announces Manufacturing Facility Expansion
(PRWEB) October 15, 2013 -- Marion Body Works, Inc., a Marion, Wis.-based manufacturer of specialized transportation equipment, announced today that it has added a variety of state-of-the-art equipment to its fabrication department, significantly enhancing the company’s capabilities and both the quality and reliability of its equipment. Marion Body Works added nearly 20,000 square feet to its facility to house the new equipment and related resources.
Company president Curt Ignacio says the equipment enhancements will help the company continue its long history of customer-focused innovation. “We’re known as the people who can ‘do anything’ when it comes to fire & rescue apparatus, commercial van bodies and truck cabs, and this equipment makes it even easier for us to design to exacting specifications and deliver the custom equipment customers need,” he said.
The new equipment includes two Bystronic 100-ton capacity press brakes and a a Byspeed automated laser cutting machine. Software that allows for the laser, automation and press brakes to be managed simultaneously will also be added.
A second bridge mill was also added to the fabrication department to provide greater capacity and improved reliability; new software will allow Marion’s two mills to be programmed offline, increasing the run time of the machines.
