Minto West Text Amendment Proposed at the First Palm Beach County Public Hearing, April 11, 2014
Loxahatchee, FL (PRWEB) April 11, 2014 -- Minto West has its first public hearing in which the Planning Division will present the request for initiation of a comprehensive plan text amendment to the Planning Commission for a recommendation. Minto West will seek a comprehensive land plan change to increase the overall density to 1.7 residences per acre. Plans call for employment centers for office space, aerospace/technology research and development, retail, and 6,500 residences as well as a baseball spring training facility with a 150-room hotel.
Following the recommendation form the April 11th meeting, the request will go before the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) on April 28, 2014 for initiation. Initiation by the BCC does not imply that these amendments will ultimately be approved, but simply allows the process to begin. Development rights for Minto West Community currently include approval to build a 2,996 residences and 235,000 sq. ft. of commercial and retail space. This community is projected to take 20 -25 years to build out.
“The plan Minto West is proposing will significantly enhance the quality of life and economic prosperity of Palm Beach County,” said Mike Belmont, president, Minto Florida. “We have been contacted by hundreds of supporters that understand our vision and the benefits that Minto West will bring to the western communities from the local area.”
