Music by American Composers Featured in Next Concert by Ventos Wind Quintet
Vancouver, British Columbia (PRWEB) September 30, 2013 -- Ventos, a Vancouver, BC based woodwind quintet will be performing an exciting program of wind chamber music titled "Yankee Doodle Dandies: Music for winds by American Composers." The program will include music by Amy Beach, Gunther Schuller, Robert Muczynski and Eric Ewazen. The concert will be presented on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 7:30p.m in Vancouver at Grace Memorial Church, Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 7:30p.m. in North Vancouver at Presentation House Theatre and again Sunday, October 13, 2013 at 3:30pm in South Surrey at Sunnyside United Church. Ventos is comprised of: Jeff Pelletier-Flute, Lauris Davis- Oboe, Mike Dowler-Clarinet, Nick Anderson-Horn and Elizabeth Mee-Bassoon. Ventos was born out of each member's individual passion to share their artistry and inspire others while making great music as a group. Ventos (which means ‘Wind’ in Portuguese) aspires to engage audiences young and old with exciting performances of the classic wind quintet repertoire, transcriptions for wind quintet and performing newly composed works for the wind quintet genre.
