National Association of Professional Women Announces Laura L. Foster, Logistics Director for the US Navy, a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) November 11, 2014 -- NAPW honors Laura L. Foster, Logistics Director for the US Navy, as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in logistics. A decorated Navy veteran of 21 years, Laura Foster’s areas of expertise include supply chain logistics, budgeting, finance, military operations, aviation logistics, expeditionary logistics and human resource management. Ms. Foster was a Marketing Manager and Aviation Instructor for Flight Safety Boeing in the greater Seattle area before joining the US Navy. She served as a Plans and Policies Officer and created the first CNAF N41 web portal as a central depository for instructions and public information.
Throughout her career, Ms. Foster served in many positions of responsibility including Aviation Stores Division Officer (S-6), Supply Officer/OIC Navy Cargo Handling Battalion FOUR, Deputy Commander Task Force Four Three, Deputy Chief of Staff for Aviation Logistics, Logistics Department Head (R4) for 20th Seabee Readiness Group and Logistics.
Ms. Foster also worked on the Warrior Transition Program and set up the logistics pipeline to collect, inventory, safeguard and ship all personal protective gear, weapons and ammunition from Individual Augmentees and small detachments redeploying from various locations throughout the Middle East. Ms. Foster was recognized as the Junior Officer of the Year for 2003 for her work aboard USS John C. Stennis and the team she lead during Operation Tomodashi in Japan was awarded the 2012 Admiral Stanley R. Arthur award for Logistics Excellence.
