PEPPM Purchasing Cooperative Re-Bids, Seeking 512 Technology Brands
Milton, PA (PRWEB) September 05, 2014 -- The nation’s largest technology purchasing cooperative, the PEPPM program, is seeking sealed bids on 512 brands of technology products for schools districts and public sector agencies to use starting January 1, 2015.
In a sweeping re-bid of all its existing product-line contracts, the PEPPM Technology Bidding and Purchasing Program has delivered bid documents into the in-boxes of 2,191 vendors in the hope of getting low-price, competitive bids from manufacturers, dealers, publishers, wholesalers, and retailers.
PEPPM expects to attract even more potential bidders as it advertises the bid and publishes formal bid notices in seven newspapers throughout the country, including USA Today, which has national distribution. Social media communications also seek to alert companies of the bidding opportunity.
Currently, public agencies serving communities in 47 states across the U.S. use purchasing contracts awarded through the PEPPM cooperative, which is known for its widespread solicitation of potential bidders, online bidding technology, a thorough evaluation of hundreds of thousands of prices, and post-award management and audit of contracts.
The national technology bidding and purchasing program will accept bids from all qualified companies until Monday, September 22, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time through online bidding eCommerce technology provided by the Epylon Corporation.
For additional information about this current bidding opportunity, visit the PEPPM website at http://www.peppm.org/bids. Interested and qualified vendors should register as a supplier at http://www.epylon.com, and choose the category of “Technology: Computers, Printers, Network Equipment.” Bid documents will be available online and sent to the inbox of newly registered vendors.
After an extensive evaluation of prices and references, the CSIU will make one award for each product line specified, and resulting contracts will be good for an initial three-year term.
Among the requested products are lines of computers, networking equipment, software, hosted application services, copiers, furniture, tablets, audio-visual equipment, and other electronic equipment and supplies.
PEPPM is the 32-year-old cooperative purchasing program for schools, universities, and other public agencies operated by the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit (CSIU), a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This past year the PEPPM program has served nearly 1,600 public agencies in U.S. communities over the past year by providing piggybackable purchasing contracts to the public sector, thereby lowering total cost of acquisition.
