Ponddy Education Inc., an industry leader in personalized language learning, today announced the launch of “30 Days to AP®”, a 4-week intensive program created to help students maximize their chances to succeed at the AP® Chinese exam which will take place Monday, May 6, 2019, nationwide. The program includes four 2-hour sessions with a Ponddy Tutor, 3 hours of full-length practice exams administered by tutors with personalized feedback, and a 6-month Ponddy Reader subscription, all for just $300. Students have until April 6 to apply.

Ponddy Advanced Placement® Chinese Language and Culture course is approved by the College Board, giving students the ability to earn high school credits. It also adheres to the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) national standards for Foreign Language Learning in the 21st Century. The 4-week program is designed to further develop students’ proficiency across the three communication modes - interpersonal, interpretive and presentational - and incorporates learning material to improve reading, writing, listening and speaking skills right before the exam.

Ponddy-trained AP Tutors use Ponddy Reader as part of the 4-week course. Ponddy Reader is a web-based application using artificial intelligence to personalize the learning experience. It is built on Ponddy’s proprietary Affinity Knowledge Learning System (AKLS) to level content and vocabulary according to national and international standards.

Ponddy Reader dynamically adds an online dictionary, pinyin and sample sentences to any piece of content, giving students quick access to co-locations of words, characters and radicals. Reader also helps students know whether or not a text is in line with their proficiency, so that they can progress without frustration. It enables instructors to select focused vocabulary and grammar points, add narration and append learning resources and comprehension questions. The result is a learning environment that is enjoyable to both students and teachers, enabling fast learning and lasting retention.

“The “30 Days to AP” program is an incredible opportunity for any student getting ready for the Chinese Language and Culture AP Exam, says Xin Chen, AP | IB Chinese language teacher at Berkeley High School. “It provides them with some of the most advanced learning experiences to optimize their retention and maximize their chances of success at the exam.”

This announcement follows the launch of Ponddy Tutors and Ponddy Reader at the end of 2018, a successful Series A funding round of $6 million in March 2018, as well as an approval from the College Board to provide online Ponddy Advanced Placement® Chinese language and culture course. The company also created Pondlets for language programs such as Flagship or STARTALK, a federally funded program, with thematic units spanning all levels from beginner to AP® level.
