Roll off Dumpster Rental Provider in Jacksonville Supplying Services to Arc Village Construction Site
Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) October 22, 2014 -- Jacksonville dumpster rental company Sunshine Recycling is currently providing their dumpster and hauling services to the construction site of a planned community for adults with disabilities. The project, located on the Southside of Jacksonville near the intersection of Hodges and Beach Boulevards, is expected to break ground by the end of this year.
The community — named The Arc Village— received significant contributions from both state and private donors. The Florida Housing Finance Corporation’s board of directors approved a $4.5 million award last year, with a $1.5 million developmental disability grant and almost $11 million in affordable housing tax credits. $2.4 million was also contributed to the project through private donations, ensuring that the $17.7 million needed for preliminary construction was reached. However, around $4 million is still required for furnishing the community, hiring and training staff, acquiring equipment, buying vehicles to assist the residents and more.
This planned community is the first of its kind in the state of Florida. The apartment-style residences are affordable and available for rent to all adults with both intellectual and developmental disabilities. Two of the major draws to this development are its entrance access to public transportation and its close proximity to major commercial areas with job opportunities.
The Arc Village was developed by The Arc Jacksonville— a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and campaigning for adults with disabilities. Sunshine Recycling is providing the construction site with several 20 and 30-yard dumpsters as well as hauling services. They have worked with the development’s contractor, Summit Contracting Group, Inc., several times in the past. Most recently, Sunshine Recycling donated their dumpsters and hauling services to the construction of a new K9s For Warriors Training Facility in Jacksonville.
“It’s amazing to contribute to the construction of the first planned community in Florida for adults with disabilities,” said Chuck Herb, owner of Sunshine Recycling. “This development is going to be so beneficial and will hopefully be only the first of many to come.”
