SpatialNote Announces Kickstarter Campaign Launch, Continues Mission to Start a 3D Learning Content Revolution
Boston, Massachusetts (PRWEB) August 24, 2015 -- Motivated by the desire to learn and revolutionize education, the SpatialNote team has built a solution to make their vision a reality, as well as created and shared sample 3D knowledge structures that range from small reference materials to whole textbooks.
Through September 22, SpatialNote aims to raise interest in unique 3D content with the launch of a new KickStarter campaign. With enough support, the team plans to add navigation for its 3D documents using Emotiv Insight and Oculus Rift.
“Many people might think that a 3D textbook is just another gimmick. However, instead of being a substitute for your memory, as is often the case with technology products, 3D textbooks can make your memorization and recall more powerful,” says Vladimir Babarykin, inventor and co-founder of SpatialNote.
For centuries, the flat nature of paper has remained a limiting factor that dictates the way books and educational materials look. Yet, even in 5th century BC, people documented the Method of Loci, a spatial (3D) mnemonic technique that passed the test for efficiency and is still used today by more than 90% of memory athletes. SpatialNote’s patent-pending solution allows for real-time 3D interaction to build upon some of the same mnemonic principles while also solving another problem of current textbooks – linearity.
“When you read dozens of books on the same topic, you can notice that authors lead you using different linear paths along the same building blocks of knowledge. What if instead of documenting multiple paths around the same content in multiple books it was possible to create one quality textbook on a subject that allowed readers to travel multiple paths themselves?” continues Vladimir.
Those interested can support the project by pledging, participating in conversation, and creating and sharing their 3D documents at the Kickstarter page.
