Steven Winter Associates Receives Awards for Energy Savings Achieved Through the NYSERDA Multifamily Performance Program (MPP)

(SWA) was among four engineering firms in New York City recognized for achieving double the amount of energy savings required for projects completed through the NYSERDA Multifamily Performance Program (MPP). The other firms that received honors were the Association for Energy Affordability (AEA), Power Concepts, and SustainAbility Partners. The winning projects maximize efficiency to reduce energy consumption, costs, and waste in multifamily buildings, while providing a more comfortable, healthy and sustainable environment for residents.
SWA received the Deep Savings Award for New Construction and the Installer Award for New Construction. The former was awarded for contributions made to the VIP Hughes Gardens project in the Bronx, where a savings of 32 percent was achieved when compared to the energy use of conventional new construction. The Installer Award recognizes the highest installed savings across an MPP partner’s new construction portfolio. New construction projects by SWA saved 13,498 million BTU in a 10-month period.
