Taptosa Introduces Interactive Touch Displays for Dark Rides
AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (PRWEB) February 12, 2018 -- Taptosa, a Dutch provider of technology for rides and attractions, introduces a new product for creating interactive experience in rides. Because it is an off the shelf product, implementation can be very quick. Just the content and themes need to be added.
A dark ride is an attraction in which guests are toured through an artificial landscape, usually in a building, palace, garden, or other well defined environment. The palace contains animatronics, shows, visual effects, sound effects, etc. The challenge of dark ride designers is to make the ride entertaining, to the level that guests will remember it for the days to come. The experience is like watching TV: what you see is spectacular, or scary, or beautiful, or informative, and you will remember.
However, today, TV is not the dominant experience people have in their lives. Online is the dominant medium. Kids play online games, mobile games, adults browse all kinds of sites, and in general, people spend too much time on social media. Isn't it about time attraction parks upgrade their dark rides, make them 21st century, and make them interactive?
Upgrading dark rides provides the best of two worlds: everything that exists in rides today, plus the interactive experience that today's technology can provide. Guests have a choice: sit back and watch, or interfere and adapt the ride to their taste.
Taptosa is one of the very few companies with a proven track record in putting touch displays in dark ride vehicles. The flag ship project put touch displays in dashboards of vehicles in a well known dark ride, realized in 2017. The displays allow guests riding a vehicle to rotate the vehicle, to interact with installations in the dark ride, to play games on displays inside and outside the vehicle. Also, they control sound and light effects in the vehicle, coordinated with installations in the attraction. Finally, communication between the display system and the vehicle allows for optimal synchronization of effects both inside and outside the vehicle.
All components are controlled by a central unit that coordinates timing both inside and outside the vehicle. Because Taptosa provides proven technology in ready made products, extensive testing on site is eliminated.
