The Lincoln-Woodstock Chamber Wants Families to Know That They Don't Have to Travel Far to Have a Fun, Economical February Vacation
(PRWEB) February 12, 2014 -- February Vacation is just around the corner and many families are starting to organize their plans to keep the kids occupied during this week off from school. The option to travel somewhere warm and sunny may be appealing, but it can also be very expensive. Lincoln-Woodstock, in the Western White Mountains of New Hampshire, offers a little bit of everything to keep everyone in the family happy, no matter their budget.
For the outdoor enthusiast, Loon Mountain is offering many events and activities for the whole family. “With over a foot of snow falling in the past week, conditions are the best they’ve been all season and the mountain is wide open as we head into the February vacation week,” said Molly Mahar, Loon Mountain’s director of marketing. ‘Next week’s schedule is jam packed with fun family activities, events, and entertainment to keep everyone smiling, ranging from rail jams for kids and après snowshoe outings, to Olympic viewing parties, Fluorescent Nights in the park, the East Coast’s only Ice Castle, zipline and more.”
Cannon Mountain is also offering many skiing events, apres parties, and a family fun night. For the families who may not want to hit the slopes, they can also try snowmobiling with SledVentures, or Outback Kayak. For those wanting something a bit more adventurous, Alpine Adventures boasts a canopy zipline tour, an off road “safari” tour, and an aerial park.
This year, Jean’s Playhouse will be hosting many performers for the young and young at heart. Scott Severance, Executive Director of the theater said, “For the first time, Jean's Playhouse will be presenting a week long Winter Festival event with something exciting and affordable every night from Monday, February 17th through Saturday February 22nd: Magicians, a Murder Mystery show, Puppet Show, Comedians, even a Beatles tribute band. There's something for every member of the family. Ski all day, come to the theatre, and put your feet up at night!" Tempted yet?
Many of the lodging properties in Lincoln-Woodstock are offering room specials for February Vacation week, discounted ski tickets, as well as programs for kids and live music for adults.
Directly off of Interstate 93, Lincoln-Woodstock should be on your list of destinations to visit during February Vacation.
