Being selected a second time as a winner in the Defense Energy Technology Challenge is very rewarding in light of the hundreds of other worthy applicants.
Kent, WA (PRWEB) October 22, 2013
Transformative Wave, developer of the CATALYST, North America’s leading efficiency solution for constant volume HVAC systems, is proud to announce it has been named a winner the Defense Energy Technology Challenge as part of the Defense Energy Summit held in Austin, Texas. In July, Transformative Wave was announced a winner of a separate Defense Energy Technology Challenge, making this its second consecutive win for a Defense Energy Technology Challenge.
In its submission, Transformative Wave highlighted the recently patented CATALYST, which is a complete HVAC energy efficiency upgrade for existing constant volume HVAC systems. It is manufactured and shipped as an easy-to-install pre-wired kit that radically lowers the energy use and improves the performance of constant volume HVAC systems. The CATALYST has a proven track record of reducing overall energy use by 25%-50% in a cost-effective manner. Transformative Wave’s eIQ Platform provides customers real-time interaction with CATALYST-equipped HVAC units for performance verification, fault alerts, remote set point adjustment and scheduling via a web interface.
Danny Miller, President of Transformative Wave, comments: “The Department of Defense is known as the world’s largest facilities operator and its portfolio includes thousands of buildings that rely on rooftop packaged HVAC units. Our field installations in Hawaii at Joint Base Pearl Harbor/Hickham provide clear evidence that the CATALYST can make a significant contribution to the DOD’s energy conservation goals. Being selected a second time as a winner in the Defense Energy Technology Challenge is very rewarding in light of the hundreds of other worthy applicants.“
Following the recent release of the Department of Energy’s field study of the CATALYST, this second consecutive win for a Defense Energy Technology Challenge further demonstrates that leading industry experts are recognizing the maturity and unique potential of the CATALYST. The Challenge is a collaboration of the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force, to identify top defense-targeted clean energy solutions and match them to existing and upcoming testing and procurement opportunities. As part of the Challenge win Transformative Wave will speak at the Defense Energy Summit in Austin, Texas November 11-13, 2013.
