Ottawa,Ontario Canda (PRWEB) February 06, 2014 -- Tree Canada is asking all Canadians, whether individuals or companies, to join an effort to reach 10,000 trees by Earth Day, April 22, 2014.
The trees will help to make our environment cleaner and healthier for everyone.
Here’s what 10,000 trees can do:
- Sequester about 5,775 tonnes of CO2, or
- Offset the carbon produced by about 1,700 mid-size cars in a year – or more than 25 million kilometres of road travel, or
- Remove the equivalent carbon of 1,925 round-trip flights between Vancouver, B.C. and Melbourne, Australia
Every tree counts. Individuals or companies can choose where their tree contributions will be planted – British Columbia, the prairies, Ontario, Quebec, or the Atlantic provinces.
Tree Canada is excited about the challenge and will post updates and results on social media and our website. To get in on the action, use #TC10KTrees on Twitter and follow Tree Canada on Facebook.
