Urgent Care Association of America Gathers for Largest-Ever Fall Conference
Denver, CO (PRWEB) October 10, 2014 -- The urgent care industry is experiencing a surge due to a growing need for convenient, affordable and quality medical care. This growth and urgent care’s increasingly important role in the healthcare landscape are just a few topics that will be addressed by industry leaders at the Urgent Care Association of America (UCAOA) Urgent Care Fall Conference, which kicks off today in Denver.
The Fall Conference brings together physicians, medical professionals, Urgent Care Association of America leadership and operators from a wide array of urgent care centers around the country to discuss the successful practice of urgent care and how to continue moving the industry forward.
“The urgent care industry is experiencing explosive growth and strong demand from consumers who want convenient, affordable and quality health care," said Dr. Nathan Newman, president of the UCAOA Board of Directors. “At our Fall Conference, the best and brightest minds in the industry come together to discuss important clinical and practice management topics that allow us to continue providing the highest level of quality care for patients.”
As an important link between the emergency room and primary care, urgent care helps the healthcare industry keep up with the demands of an increasing number of patients including those newly insured through the Affordable Care Act. Ideal for non-life threatening episodic events, such as flu, colds, urinary tract infections, sprains, minor broken bones and other common illnesses, urgent care is serving a strong demand in the market for consumers.
“Current trends such as healthcare reform, the primary care doctor shortage, patients seeking care on their schedules, need for cost savings and an aging population mean that urgent care will continue to be a healthcare solution for many,” said Dr. Newman. “By bringing together urgent care professionals and arming them with the tools they need to integrate in the healthcare delivery systems in their communities, we can continue to adapt to the changing healthcare landscape and to serve our patients across the country.”
The 2014 Urgent Care Fall Conference is held through Oct. 11 at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center.
