Utah Health Information Network (UHIN) Selects PilotFish’s Integration Engine Solutions to Power Its Next Generation Health Claims Data Clearinghouse
MIDDLETOWN, CT (PRWEB) February 05, 2015 -- Applied PilotFish Healthcare Integration Inc. (APHII) announced today that the Utah Health Information Network (UHIN) has selected Applied PilotFish Healthcare Integration's eiPlatform and eiConsole for Healthcare products as integral components of its future-state architecture. UHIN serves as both a clearinghouse for healthcare claims data and a Health Information Exchange (HIE) for the coordination of clinical data. Phase 1 of UHIN’s multi-year effort is focused on the movement, manipulation, and validation of electronic claims files and other administrative data. The scope of the effort includes the movement of ANSI X.12 HIPAA transactions to and from thousands of providers around Utah and 4,000 payers nationwide.
“With the implementation of the PilotFish integration middleware, UHIN has already seen dramatic gains in the manageability and flexibility of our trading partner communications,” said Dallin Johnston, Chief Operating Officer for the Utah Health Information Network. “These technical benefits have been coupled with improvements in team productivity, allowing our organization to deliver a much higher level of service to our members than was previously possible. We’ve been gratified that in a matter of less than three months, several hundred unique data flows have been implemented by a small team of UHIN employees. The fact that the team is largely self-taught in the PilotFish products is real testament to how easy to learn and use the software really is.”
UHIN is a broad-based coalition of Utah healthcare insurers, providers, and others, including local government entities. It provides a private and secure gateway for the exchange of electronic data. These exchanges include large integrated healthcare corporations as well as single-physician practices.
“PilotFish is excited to be selected by and work with UHIN as their healthcare integration solution. Given UHIN’s diverse member constituency and their very diverse data requirements, our eiPlatform and eiConsole have proven to be a perfect fit,” said Monika Vainius, Executive Vice President, APHII. “Our product’s architecture supports any data format and any communications protocol. It is providing UHIN with exactly the kind of flexibility they need.”
