Vanguard University and St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Host New York Times #1 Bestselling Author, Eric Metaxas
Costa Mesa, CA (PRWEB) November 04, 2014 -- Vanguard University and St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach are proud to host An Evening with Eric Metaxas on November 12, 7 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. This free event is open to the public, and will take a look at the eye-opening exploration of the phenomenon of “Miracles” – also the title to Metaxas’ latest book.
Metaxas is the author of “Bonhoeffer,” a New York Times #1 bestseller, and one whom ABC News has called a “witty ambassador for faith.” Offering serious discussion on how faith and science collide, Metaxas documents stories of actual miracles from individuals across the country. In his latest work, “Miracles,” Metaxas explores what they are, why they happen and how they can change your life. The book is also a timely answer to the books of the "New Atheists" – Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, and Sam Harris – who have passionately asserted not just the impossibility of miracles and the supernatural, but the outright harmfulness of belief in them.
“At our core, Vanguard University is an educational institution that is constantly seeking the integration of faith and learning – of mind and spirit – the two are never separate,” says Kelly Kannwischer, vice president for university advancement. “Because of this value, we are honored to host Eric Metaxas, as he gives Orange County audiences an understanding of the complex concept of miracles.”
Tickets are free, but reservations are required, as it is expected to be a sell out event. Visit http://www.vanguard.edu/eric-metaxas to purchase tickets, and to view additional event information.
