vRad and RSU Bunda Jakarta Partner to Bring “Anytime–Anywhere” Subspecialty Radiology Services to Indonesia
MINNEAPOLIS, MN and JAKARTA, Indonesia (PRWEB) March 18, 2015 -- vRad (Virtual Radiologic), the nation’s leading telemedicine company and radiology practice, and RSU Bunda Jakarta, an innovative center of healthcare excellence and part of Indonesia’s leading healthcare operator Bundamedik Healthcare System, announced an exclusive partnership agreement where vRad will provide final and preliminary subspecialty imaging interpretations 24/7, in collaboration with Bunda’s local Jakarta-based radiologists and referring physicians. Representatives from vRad and RSU Bunda Jakarta signed the agreement at Bundamedik’s Jakarta headquarters.
RSU Bunda Jakarta will leverage vRad’s patented clinical and imaging global platform to access teleradiology and telemedicine services from vRad’s more than 350 U.S. board-certified radiologists, 75% of whom are subspecialty trained. The partnership’s mission is to create better patient outcomes by facilitating global clinical real-time collaboration for faster diagnostic turnaround times for referring physicians and their patients.
“This partnership with vRad allows us to provide quality radiology services using a proven and established network of highly trained diagnostic subspecialists,” said Ivan Rizal Sini, MD, FRANZCOG, GDRM, SpOG, Chairman of Bundamedik Healthcare System. “We share vRad’s commitment to quality, technical innovation and clinical excellence. Our collaboration is designed to ultimately benefit the patients we care for and allows Bunda to continue its mission of bringing Indonesian healthcare to a high international standard with lower costs to patients.”
RSU Bunda Jakarta’s services include robotic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, cardiology and neurology services, and a range of advanced diagnostic and screening services at its Bunda Philips Radiodiagnostic Centre.
Indonesia is the fourth most populated country and one of the fastest growing healthcare markets. The government’s objective of 100% universal healthcare coverage by 2019 will require innovative technical and clinical solutions and partnerships to ensure “anytime-anywhere” access to the country’s population that spans 18,000 islands.
“The demand for high-quality healthcare services is growing throughout Southeast Asia and has grown more quickly in Indonesia than anywhere else in the region,” said Jim Burke, President and CEO of vRad. “As its population of 240 million increases, so will their clinical needs. This demand, along with Indonesia’s recently implemented universal coverage, has increased the urgency for Indonesia to enhance healthcare delivery and quality. Together, vRad and Bunda will provide world-class imaging services so that RSU Bunda physicians can continue to make quality healthcare decisions as demand from their patients increases.”
