Weejee Learning Named a Finalist in Chief Learning Officer Magazine’s Learning in Practice Awards
Durham, N.C. (PRWEB) September 05, 2013 -- Weejee Learning, a global provider of custom, interactive and fun e-learning solutions for corporations, non-governmental organizations, associations and nonprofits, has been named a finalist in Chief Learning Officer Magazine’s 2013 Learning in Practice Awards. A leading trade publication for the workforce learning and development industry, CLO Magazine is recognizing Weejee as one of three finalists for exceptional work in the e-learning category.
Now in its 10th year, the Learning in Practice Awards recognize industry leaders who have demonstrated excellence in the design and delivery of employee development programs. Weejee was named a finalist for its work with DaVita, the dialysis division of DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. Weejee enhanced DaVita’s compliance training program using its signature “funification” method, or the theory that by integrating fun into learning, learning becomes more effective.
Implementing gamification and game mechanics, Weejee created an interactive scavenger hunt complete with a talking parrot host and a backpack of gadgets to guide DaVita team members through compliance training. As team members engaged with the scavenger hunt, they began to learn the training material more thoroughly.
“Being chosen as a finalist from such a talented group of companies is exciting,” said Ian Huckabee, CEO of Weejee Learning. “The compliance training program we created with DaVita really exemplifies what we want to do – create learning solutions that are as interactive, engaging and fun as possible. CLO Magazine is a top resource in our industry and to be named a finalist is an exceptional honor.”
Award finalists will be recognized at the Fall Chief Learning Officer Symposium, scheduled Sept. 30 through Oct. 2 at the Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Palm Springs. The awards ceremony will take place during a special reception and dinner Monday, Sept. 30 where finalists will be given either gold, silver or bronze awards.
In addition to DaVita, Weejee has leveraged its unique brand of fun and engaging enterprise-wide e-learning for clients nationally and globally. Its core services include providing custom learning solutions, learning needs and curriculum analyses, program design, social learning strategy, and instructional design and development.
