Aloha Construction Inc's Building Better Communities Program with ISU donates $1965 to Camp One Step
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (PRWEB) February 28, 2018 -- This past month, the 2017 Better Business Bureau Torch Award Winners Aloha Construction Inc and their Bloomington, IL roofing team took on another charitable initiative donating $1,965 to Camp One Step by Children's Oncology Services! Since the start of the academic season, these local roofers and siding contractors were looking for a way to make more of an impact. Through brainstorming with the ISU athletic department, the Aloha Construction "Building Better Communities" program was born. Continuously donating $5 for every assist recorded in an ISU Men's basketball game, Aloha Construction, Inc. was able to do just that.
David A. Farbaky, President/CEO of Aloha Construction Inc. and Aloha Restoration, Co., says "Helping those in need was always a dream of mine. That dream coupled with my love for children has turned what was once just random acts of kinds into something more systematic and institutional. I've come to realize helping others can't just be random. It has to be something that happens year round. I'm just humbled to know that the culture of our company reflects these feelings I've had my whole life."
Camp One Step offers camp experiences and excursion programs that allow children with cancer to simply enjoy the carefree bliss of childhood. Having already donated $2500 to Camp One Step at the beginning of this year, the additional $1965 means Aloha Construction, Inc. will be sending four to five children to camp this summer. A current counselor who is pictured accepting the check adds: "Being a former camper and a current team member, I know what this donation will do for the campers. This means so much."
