Clarifai, a leading independent artificial intelligence (AI) startup that uses machine learning to understand images and videos, today unveiled a company-wide rebrand focused on providing solutions to enterprise customers, starting with an On-Premise offering. The company also announced two key executive hires to drive this shift: Ulas Bardak, VP of Engineering, and Rajesh Talpade, VP of Product. With Clarifai’s On-Premise offering, the company’s full suite of AI solutions becomes even more accessible and customizable, allowing customers to access them directly on their own hardware and data centers. This flexibility allows for faster AI training and applications, enhanced reliability, and the best in user privacy and data security, as input and output data never leave a customer’s hands. Clarifai will consistently provide maintenance and updates for its On-Premise solution, ensuring customers always have the latest advancements on hand for their needs.

Clarifai’s new look highlights its solutions-based approach to the enterprise. Launching today, the company’s redesigned website demonstrates the unique ways existing customers have seamlessly tailored the technology to solve their business problems, and showcases Clarifai’s latest cutting-edge tools and how customers can bring them to immediate action. Additionally, Clarifai debuted a new logo inspired by the duality between a neural network and the human neural processes of understanding information — the concept of connecting one point, or one idea to another to see the bigger picture. This new pricing structure still starts at free but unlocks additional features and services to provide greater value as more customers use the platform. New pricing tiers include the option to have Clarifai Machine Learning and Data Science experts work hand in hand with customers to deliver best-in-class computer vision solutions tailored to their business need.

Helping spearhead Clarifai’s renewed focus to enterprise are new executive hires Ulas Bardak, VP of Engineering, and Rajesh Talpade, VP of Product.

A PhD in Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing with more than 10 years of engineering experience, Bardak joins Clarifai from his most recent position as CTO at Whisper, where he managed an engineering staff of more than 35. Prior to that, Bardak served as Whisper’s Chief Data Officer, joining the company from StumbleUpon, where he served as Principal Architect of Personalization and Associate Director of Applied Research. He was also a research assistant at Carnegie Mellon University, where he received his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degrees.

As Clarifai’s VP of Engineering, Bardak will lead its rapidly expanding team of software engineers and machine learning engineers to drive new breakthroughs in Clarifai’s product, and ensure the ongoing quality and reliability of its platform.

Talpade brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in product management, operations and research, having previously served as VP of Product at Google. He has published more than 25 industry research papers and secured seven patents throughout his career. His unrivaled interest in commercializing his research drove an organic transition to product management of enterprise-grade products. Talpade has launched products into new market segments and generated rapid revenue and user growth, while simultaneously reducing costs of product operations.

As Clarifai’s VP of Product, Talpade will oversee Clarifai’s platform, solutions, and product lines to provide the best-in-class AI solutions to Clarifai’s customers.
