Christy Namondo Menyoli is a native of Buea, in former British Southern Cameroons who immigrated to the US in 1992, earned a Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois, and has worked as a registered pediatric nurse for the past ten years. She currently resides in Chicago, Illinois with her two children and has completed her new book “Let's Go Play GumBayLay-GumBayLay! And Other Fun and Easy African Childhood Games We Used to Play”: an enchanting reminder of the rich cultural traditions and simple yet universal joys of childhood around the world.

While growing up in a mountain village in former British Southern Cameroons, Christy Namondo Menyoli knew elementary school lunch break as not only time to eat, but time to play! In this book, Menyoli uses vibrant photos along with detailed descriptions to bring to life some fun and easy childhood games, like GumBayLay-GumBayLay, Awu M’BayLay, TahBahLah, and Mini-Mini Mini-Mini.
