A new meaningful use survey released today by the College of Health Information Management Executives (CHIME) finds that there is continued optimism among healthcare CIOs regarding EHR stimulus funding, but that a majority of organizations won’t qualify as early as expected . The survey also finds that capturing and submitting data for quality measures has become the most difficult obstacle with respect to achieving meaningful use.

CHIME Survey Finds Confidence Wanes Among Hospital CIOs Hoping to Qualify Early for EHR Stimulus Funding

A new survey released today by the College of Health Information Management Executives (CHIME) has found that healthcare CIOs are less confident than previously reported when it comes to qualifying early for stimulus funding. Compared with an earlier survey conducted in August, the percentage of CIOs who expect their organizations to qualify for electronic health records incentives dropped by half. The survey also found that implementation of computerized provider order entry (CPOE) was identified as the most difficult objective related to achieving meaningful use.
