“Conversations with Maria Menounos" Releases Latest Episode with Guest Rob Lowe
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 11, 2013 -- "Killing Kennedy" star Rob Lowe joined Extra host Maria Menounos for the latest episode of "Conversations with Maria Menounos," a new digital series featuring long form interviews with stars and influencers. One of Hollywood's most charming leading men, Lowe opened about upcoming projects and exclusives from his forthcoming book "Love Life." "There’s a great chapter about what its like to have to fight Warren Beatty for your girlfriend," said Lowe. "There’s a 19-year-old's first visit to the Playboy Mansion; one can only imagine what that chapter must include…. The chapter that has gotten the most interest is just a chapter I wrote about what it was like to send my first boy off to college. So it’s a little mix of the extraordinary and the ordinary.”
Menounos praised Lowe's impeccable performance of the late great President Kennedy, a fete the actor approached with great support from the Kennedy family. Lowe comments, “I did at a certain point go to [Maria Shriver] and say you know “I gotta play Uncle Jack” and she was supportive. I don't know what I would have done if there had not been support for me doing it… The feedback that I've gotten from the few people in the family that have seen it has been really really supportive.”
His performance is already receiving talk for awards season. Earlier this year he received rave reviews from critics and fans alike for his role at Dr. Startz for HBO's "Behind the Candelabra." When asked if he felt snubbed at this year's Emmy Awards ceremony, Lowe comments, "If you watch Behind the Candelabra and you say ‘okay you need to nominate this movie for eighteen Emmys’ and you don't nominate me, that takes some doing just to be totally honest… I've never had more people respond to anything.”
NBC recently announced Lowe would be leaving the cast of Parks & Recreation with co-star Rashida Jones and is slated to star in and executive produce "The Pro" for the network. Lowe explains, "It’s me as the near-do-well tennis pro at the Los Angeles golf and tennis club. And look, lets face it, it's going to be me wearing a lot of visors and short shorts and what could be better?”
Lowe and partners at Filmyard Holdings acquired Miramax in 2010and, in the interview, revealed he'd "like to get Miramax into television... but you know, Miramax should always stand for great movies.”
Lowe stars in “Killing Kennedy" on the National Geographic Channel.
