'Don't Let Them Get In Your Head," a Powerful Anti-Bullying Music Video
Wichita, Kansas (PRWEB) October 05, 2015 -- A new Anti-Bullying campaign will feature a music video for the song “Don’t Let Them Get in Your Head,” written by musician Jenny Wood that contains a powerful anti-bullying message. This campaign is scheduled to launch in conjunction with Anti-Bullying Awareness Week and intends to go worldwide. The music video is a partnership between Wood, Super Car Guys, Shattered Glass Films, and director Alexander Matthew.
“Bullying is an epidemic,” Wood explains. “With this project and song I hope to empower kids to hold onto their hearts and heads in the face of manipulation and intimidation. I hope the kids can remember this song when bullies or ‘frienemies’ try to steal their power, suppress them, or control their potential to shine as bright as they should.”
The music video highlights three stories of students from different backgrounds: one student who is bullied for her cerebral palsy, another who experiences physical bullying at the hands of a group of older boys, and another who is affected by cyberbullying.
The video was filmed on location at Valley Center Intermediate School under the direction of Alexander Matthew and was filmed by Naythan Smith of Shattered Glass films. “We want our students and staff to be the change and make a difference in our world beyond themselves,” said Greg Lehr, Principal at Valley Center Intermediate. “By participating in this music video, we were able to give our kids an opportunity to do just that. We want students to know that every person matters, and this project shows that no matter who you are, the sky is the limit.”
Everyone is encouraged to watch the video and share it to their social networks to work toward a world free of bullying.
