Author Jacque Small Comments on Gwyneth Paltrow’s “Conscious Uncoupling"
Vancouver, British Columbia (PRWEB) April 23, 2014 -- Jacque Small, author of the recently published book, Divine Divorce, How To Make A Great Adventure Out Of The Worst Disaster Of Your Life, commented today on actor Gwyneth Paltrow’s recent breakup with husband Chris Martin.
According to her official website Goop, Paltrow has termed her separation a “conscious uncoupling,” a term that has generated some interest in the media.
Jacque Small has added her take on the situation, and is offering couples experiencing relationship problems some helpful concepts that can help get their relationship back on track.
“Gwyneth’s performance is a farce because like thousands of other people obtaining a divorce, she really has no idea how to embody consciousness in her breakup,” said Small. “As it unfolds, Gwyneth will likely display much of the ugliness that occurs in divorce.”
Small points out that this is nothing new. What is new is the concept that couples can break up and be “conscious.”
Unfortunately, most couples don’t know what it means to be conscious. Even if they are aware of their own behavior, they often have no idea how to behave differently. Some may know how to behave differently, but when their partners push their emotional hot buttons, everything explodes.
“Then we play out the drama privately in our relationships that celebrities like Gwyneth often play out in public,” said Small. “We act out this drama in front of family, friends and worst of all our children.”
In her recently published book, Divine Divorce, How To Make A Great Adventure Out Of The Worst Disaster Of Your Life, Small states that it doesn’t have to be this way.
There are five fundamental concepts couples need to know to act out the script of a love story verses an action adventure drama.
1) Make a choice to be conscious, aware of your feelings and actions.
2) Learn to think differently. Take 100% responsibility for what is occurring in your life and quit blaming your partner.
3) Let go of your emotional baggage. It is the baggage that is fighting in your relationship.
4) Love is not just a feeling inside of our body, it is an activity that we need to practice every day.
5) Be open to new ideas and be willing to learn.
“Sadly if we are not willing, or worse yet if we don’t think we need these fundamental concepts in our lives, society will continue to play out the global divorce drama, with all its negative consequences for our children,” said Small.
