Harlingen Family Dentistry Teams Up with the United Way of Northern Cameron County for "A Day in the Park”
Harlingen, Tx (PRWEB) June 30, 2014 -- On June 19th, Harlingen Family Dentistry participated in "A Day in the Park," organized by the United Way of Northern Cameron County and staged at Fair Park in Harlingen. The purpose of "A Day in the Park" is to provide activities for youth from four to eight years old such as reading stations, games, face painting, crafts and fitness activities. Partnering with the United Way for the event were the Boys and Girls Club of Harlingen, City of Harlingen, Workforce Solutions Cameron and HEB.
Two Harlingen Family Dentistry summer staff, Mallory Walters and Michael Vasquez, participated on behalf of HFD and provided oral health information, along with oral health activities for the children that attended. Michael helped with coloring activities and Mallory read books to the children at the HFD reading station. She read "The Tooth Fairy" by Kristen Hall, "Arthur’s Loose Tooth" by Lillian Hoban and "Bugs Bunny Goes to the Dentist" by Seymour Reit.
HFD is proud to contribute to community oral health programs for public and private schools, day cares, clubs, churches and businesses for adults and children.
