Ovation Reserve and Coach, Inc. to Present WINiT Mentoring Session "Tomorrow's Successful Manager - Reverse Mentoring" at 2017 ACTE Global Corporate Travel Conference
New York, NY (PRWEB) April 19, 2017 -- Reverse mentoring turns traditional mentoring on its head by designating a junior professional as the “mentor” and a senior professional as the “mentee”.
As part of its mission to drive change, provide support and educate the public about the benefits of career development, visibility and mobility of women in the travel, meeting, event and exhibition industries, WINiT will present the Education Breakout Session “Tomorrow’s Successful Manager – Reverse Mentoring” on April 25, 2017 at the 2017 ACTE Global Corporate Travel Conference in New York City. The session will be co-presented by WINiT Mentor Program members Jenn Smukler, Director of Sales at Ovation Reserve and Rosemary Maloney, Senior Manager of Global Travel at Coach, Inc.
The session will dive into the process and benefits of a reverse mentoring relationship and how this approach can benefit even the most experienced travel manager. From creating comfort with emerging technologies and social media tools to better understanding the perspective of a less experienced professional, reverse mentoring is a mutually beneficial process that empowers the mentor and enlightens the mentee.
“Mentorship is always a topic that inspires and engages,” noted Jenn Smukler, Director of Sales at Ovation Reserve, who will be co-presenting the 60 minute WINiT session. “Most people appreciate the mentoring concept, but aren’t sure how to develop a mentoring relationship for themselves, whether they’re looking to become a mentor, find a mentor or both. My participation in WINiT’s Mentor Program has opened my eyes to the endless ways in which mentorships can be developed and how mutually beneficial these relationships are for both parties. Especially for professional travel managers, evolving technologies ranging from travel apps to event management platforms to social media are driving the way business is done. Our session will discuss how reverse mentoring relationships can provide senior travel managers with an understanding of new technologies, fresh points of view and how this insight can be leveraged to the overall benefit of an organization’s entire travel program.”
The ACTE Education Breakout Session "Tomorrow’s Successful Manager – Reverse Mentoring” will take place on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 1:15pm to 2:15pm at the New York Marriott Marquis, Park Avenue Suite, Level 5.
