New York, NY (PRWEB) October 20, 2016 -- WHAT:
The release of the new report, “The World’s Worst Pollution Problems 2016: The Toxics Beneath Our Feet,” from the nonprofit Pure Earth and Green Cross Switzerland.
The new report updates our previous list of the top ten polluting industries, which collectively put over 32 million people at risk and account for seven to 16 million Disability-Adjusted Life Years (DALYs) in low- and middle-income countries.
The report will be available for download after the teleconference at http://www.worstpolluted.org, where you can also read past reports.
WHY:
Over the past decade, this annual series of reports has identified and drawn attention to the worst and most dangerously polluted places on the planet, while documenting and quantifying the startling health and environmental impacts of this neglected global problem.
Despite its toll, not enough worldwide attention is being paid to the poisoned poor. This report is part of the effort to highlight the latest data on toxic pollution’s global impact.
