BALTIMORE, July 2, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Taje Monbo, the creator and director of the 12 O'Clock Boyz film series, announced today the dismissal of a meritless lawsuit filed against him and his business partner on December 22, 2017 by Oscilloscope Pictures.
Oscilloscope Pictures filed its complaint after Monbo issued several Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Takedown Notices against Lotfy Nathan's 12 O'Clock Boys, for copyright and trademark infringement. Oscilloscope Pictures sought a declaratory judgment that it had not infringed on Monbo's 12 O'Clock Boyz copyrights and trademark.
Faced with the threat of a motion to dismiss, Oscilloscope Pictures voluntarily dismissed its case on June 14, 2019. The voluntary dismissal can be viewed here. Oscilloscope Pictures v. Monbo et al., U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York, Case No. 1:17-CV-07458.
"We will continue to protect the 12 O'Clock Boyz brand against infringement," commented Monbo.
