This idea focuses on the collective struggle the recovery population has experienced this year due to the increased isolation associated with COVID-19 and offers the resolution to finding healing together, even with social distancing practices in place.
To celebrate the achievements of those in recovery and to honor individuals and their families who lost the battle with the disease, Promises Behavioral Health is hosting and partnering in events and podcasts all centered on the idea "Together We Are Healing." During the month of September, Promises and its family of addiction and mental health treatment centers hope to bring awareness of how healing individuals can spread outwardly to surrounding communities, creating a ripple effect of positive influences. Events will include a dance party, street fair with networking opportunities, discussion panels, a recovery rally and recovery meetings. Many of these events are virtual, and Promises has partnered with nonprofit organizations such as The Next Door and SheRecovers Foundation both dedicated to serving women in their recovery efforts. Promises is also taking an active part in sobriety podcasts by hosting its own Rooted Recovery Stories and partnering with That Sober Guy Podcast to continue the conversation on how addiction recovery can change lives.
