Tip 1: Have a Definite Income Target: It is hard to reach a goal that is not set. Although simple, do not skip this step for its simplicity. Having a defined target will help you hone in on exactly how many prospects you need to contact and convert into customers to produce your ideal target income.

Tip 2: Release and Replace Self Limiting Beliefs: Do you find yourself stuck in a rut? You may consider yourself sleazy for being a salesperson. It's self-limited beliefs like these that keep potential sales stars like you from shining. Learn to replace self-limiting beliefs with empowering ones. For example: If you find yourself thinking "Sales is sleazy" you can convert that to "I am a resource the customer needs to make an educated purchase."

Tip 3: Belief in What You Sell: It is quite hard to get a customer to purchase a product or service that you don't believe in. If you find yourself in a position where you don't like the product or service you market and sell, do not hesitate to change it! Find another organization with products and services you can believe in!

Tip 4: Live Balanced Outside of Sales: Sales is a complicated role where emotions are regularly involved. It helps if you can maintain a balanced life outside of sales to regulate the inevitable times when you will have a rough week. Don't put all your self-worth stock into your sales performance. Learn to live balanced by having a social life, hobbies, friends, and more.

Tip 5: Become a Customer: One of the best ways to get customers to believe in what you are selling is to be a customer yourself! Once you are a customer of your product or service you can transfer enthusiasm and educate the customer better than if you were not.

Tip 6: Stick to Your Script: Regardless of your industry, product, or service it is likely that you've found some things that work for you. You may even have a sales script from your boss or manager. Stick to your script!

Tip 7: Know Your Numbers: Sales is a numbers game. If you want to produce top levels of income, you must know exactly what benchmarks you need to hit to do so! For example, if you know you need to contact one hundred prospects to find one customer, you should work your numbers and stick to them. This helps in many ways including keeping you levelheaded when the inevitable rejections occur.

Tip 8: Have Great Hygiene: This goes without saying, but to produce big fat sales commissions, it helps to look good and feel good. You only have one time to make a first impression, so make it right! Classic tips like tucking in your shirt, smiling, having a trimmed beard (or makeup right for ladies) can really help you.

Tip 9: Isolate the Objections: If you want to convert most of your sales prospects, learn to listen twice as much as you speak. Ask the right questions to isolate what may be causing the prospect to give you objections. For example, if a customer originally seemed interested, but went cold… you can ask "Hello Mr. Prospect… it seemed you were interested, but I may have lost you along the way. Can you tell me more about what your thinking?"

Tip 10: Ask for the Sale: Most sales representative like yourself can immediately boost their performance by crisply and certainly asking for the order! You would be surprised how many sales reps do not really ask the prospect to move forward. Make certain to ask for the order in every sales situation.
