This year's finalists represent a wide variety of media, experiences and backgrounds. Additionally, the Plutus Awards has added new categories to continue to reflect the evolving nature of the independent financial media. One of the biggest changes this year was consolidating categories across different media and focusing on overall content creation.

This year's Plutus Awards will be entirely digital, streaming on November 13, 2020. Asset management firm, Capital Group, is the Headlining Sponsor of the event and will also be working closely with the team to create a memorable online event.
One of the most interesting new categories to be added this year is one proposed by members of the Plutus Awards panel. This new category highlights financial content producers who focus on the needs and issues of underserved communities. Additionally, the panelists, which represent a diverse cross-section of online personal finance content creators, added a category recognizing outstanding coverage of current events.
