Finalists for the 11th Annual Plutus Awards have been announced. This year’s finalists represent a wide variety of media, experiences and backgrounds. Additionally, the Plutus Awards has added new categories to continue to reflect the evolving nature of the independent financial media. One of the biggest changes this year was consolidating categories across different media and focusing on overall content creation.

One of the most interesting new categories to be added this year is one proposed by members of the Plutus Awards panel. This new category highlights financial content producers who focus on the needs and issues of underserved communities. Additionally, the panelists, which represent a diverse cross-section of online personal finance content creators, added a category recognizing outstanding coverage of current events. A full list of this year’s categories and finalists can be found on the Plutus Awards website.

“Independent content creators offer unique perspectives that often get obscured by catchy headlines,” Landes said. “We’re excited to continue our tradition of making personal finance more accessible to more people.”
