Engagement+ harnesses the latest scientific research from positive, humanistic, and organizational psychology to measure the core human needs that employees need to have met to stay engaged and thrive at work, with instant insights, education, and tools to improve the employee experience.

15Five, a leading people and performance management platform used by over 2,300 customers, has launched the latest feature within the full 15Five solution, Engagement+. Engagement+ harnesses the latest scientific research from positive, humanistic, and organizational psychology to measure the core human needs that employees need to have met to stay engaged and thrive at work, with instant insights, education, and tools to improve the employee experience.

In recent years, companies have spent nearly $720 million annually to improve employee engagement [1]. In 2020, only 36% of the workplace is engaged and the remaining 64% of employees are either unengaged or actively disengaged. [2]. Employee engagement has always been an issue for organizations and the most common way to gauge engagement is through surveys. However, there is no scientific evidence that shows traditional engagement surveys have a direct impact on performance. 15Five’s Engagement+ includes the Full Potential Index to help leaders understand what truly matters to their employees and actually understand what is impacting performance. The Full Potential Index is a proprietary questionnaire created alongside Scott Barry Kaufman, Ph.D. that is designed to measure true workplace engagement through well-being concepts, such as intrinsic motivation, psychological safety, and personal-strengths alignment. The latest research from the field of positive psychology shows that these are the things that matter for employees to bring their most inspired and energized selves to their jobs each day.

“The Full Potential Index is a one-of-a-kind tool to help individuals and organizations discover the depths of their potential and help them to reach new heights of self-actualization,” shares Dr. Scott Barry Kaufman, Ph.D., humanistic psychologist, professor, author, podcaster, and popular science communicator.

Engagement+ includes evidence-based survey templates, custom templates, flexible setup, and reporting. Survey administrators can customize who and when surveys go out, schedule notifications and reminders, customize the templates, filter reporting by themes and user groups, and learn more about their results via in-app tooltips and the Best-Self Academy. Survey insights can quickly be put into action using our Best-Self Academy that has courses in which employees can take action based on their survey results, to actually improve their performance, along with using the 15Five core performance management platform.

“Business success is people success. Engagement+ is inspired by deep academic research in human thriving, so that company leaders can understand what employees really need to show up at work in a way that other engagement tools simply can't,” says David Hassell, CEO, and co-founder of 15Five. “We’re the first to translate these themes into measurable concepts that organizations can use to see the specific areas that are causing a drag on their employees’ engagement. And through utilizing our full 15Five continuous performance management solution, Best-Self Academy, and Transformational Services, managers can learn how to treat the problem areas in a more holistic and supportive way.”

With this release, 15Five offers free access to the Full Potential Index template to the public, forever. It’s the first of its kind, and currently the most complete measure of whether people and organizations are reaching their full potential. 15Five’s complete solution combines engagement, performance, education, and consulting, to provide our customers with a holistic and approachable strategy to unlock the potential of every member in their workplace.
