Available at a price of $149 from http://www.ipevo.com, the IS-01 Interactive Whiteboard System delivers the ability to turn most any flat surface into an interactive whiteboard. This can be accomplished with two small devices: a Sensor Cam to detect movement, and an Interactive Pen to be held in the hand and operated on the board surface. In conjunction with a PC or Mac and the classroom projector, teachers can draw and annotate over projected teaching materials. The Interactive Pen can also remotely control the computer operating system along with a wide variety of software programs using pen tip presses and/or a button in place of mouse clicks.
The IS-01 is compact and lightweight — such that it can be quickly swapped between classrooms or taken with educators for travel — and it's also designed to be installed and calibrated in a matter of minutes. Given IS-01's portability and significantly less expensive price compared to conventional interactive whiteboards, IS-01 serves as an attractive alternative to whiteboards costing $1,000 or more.
Special IPEVO Annotator software is also available at no charge, which provides a toolkit of basic drawing and annotating tools.
