American Psychiatric Nurses Association Membership Expanded to Include eMembership in the American Nurses Association
Falls Church, VA (PRWEB) October 09, 2013 -- The American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) is thrilled to now provide its members, as a part of their APNA membership, with the option of eMembership in the American Nurses Association (ANA). Enrolling in ANA’s eMembership program affords APNA members (at no additional cost or dues increase) digital access to ANA’s journals and e-newsletters, free and discounted access to a range of professional development programs and continuing education, discounts on online tuition at participating universities, access to ANA’s advocacy efforts, and more. For more information on features and access their eMembership, APNA members should visit http://www.apna.org/ANAeMembership.
This ANA eMembership option for APNA members is made possible through the American Psychiatric Nurses Association’s new Organizational Affiliate Premiere relationship with the American Nurses Association. As a long-time organizational affiliate, APNA is a part of a network of nursing organizations that share information and collaborate in finding solutions to issues that face the nursing profession, regardless of specialty. APNA’s new Premiere status serves to strengthen this working relationship and adds the opportunity for APNA to provide its members with ANA eMembership.
APNA Executive Director Nicholas Croce says, "APNA is pleased to upgrade its membership with ANA to Organizational Affiliate Premier status. The ability to offer APNA members the option of ANA's digital membership amplifies nursing's voice as together we address the care and treatment of persons with mental illness and substance use disorders.”
“I’m thrilled with APNA’s decision to increase the synergy between our two organizations and to provide added value to their members,” said ANA President Karen A. Daley, PhD, RN, FAAN. “This is a time of great opportunity for nursing and the more closely organizations work together, the greater impact we can have on behalf of our profession and patients.”
The ANA eMembership option now available to APNA members reflects the American Psychiatric Nurses Association’s continuous effort to empower and support psychiatric-mental health nurses by providing access to an ever expanding cadre of education, professional development programs, resources, advocacy opportunities, and more. In addition, as an ANA Organizational Affiliate Premiere, APNA is now positioned to collaborate with colleagues across nursing disciplines to advocate for the profession and for better and expanded access to care for those with mental health and substance use issues.
