Diversified Machine Systems (DMS) Announces New Pikes Peak Community College Interns, Austin Light & Kenton French to Assist with Global Growth
Colorado Springs, CO (PRWEB) October 10, 2013 -- Diversified Machine Systems (DMS), a leading designer and manufacturer of 3 axis & 5 axis CNC routers & custom machining centers, welcomes Austin Light and Kenton French to the expanding in-house marketing and sales team for the fall semester. DMS started the internship program this summer with a Colorado College student and has committed to continuing this program because of its great success.
DMS has signed a standing agreement with Pikes Peak Community College to continue to offer qualified students opportunities to work hands-on at the expanded world headquarters at 1068 Elkton Drive in Colorado Springs to assist the team with the demands of continued growth and global expansion as they relate to video, photography, graphic design, web design, trade show marketing, inbound marketing as well as client and distributor support.
This effort is part of a commitment to the student community to get a true experience of manufacturing as well as marketing, and it helps DMS stay on the cutting edge of market demands as a US-based manufacturing factory. Each internship will be for the course semester and students work side-by-side with the in-house team on industry and international initiatives.
Austin Light is from Lubbock, Texas and recently moved to Colorado Springs to start his first semester at Pikes Peak Community College and will graduate in Spring 2015 with an Associates in Multimedia Graphic Design. He currently works as a graphic designer for a t-shirt company and has plans to open his own video production company. He had spent the last four years touring with his band 'Archimedes, Watch Out' that was signed to Search and Rescue Records. He’s responsible for the latest photography, animated video element and Video of the Week edits that have been featured on DMS’ social media.
Kenton French is from Colorado Springs and became an Eagle Scout in middle school and began taking Pikes Peak Community College courses at age 15. After graduating high school this year, he’d already accrued 78 college credits. At the end of this semester, he’ll have earned his Associates in Multimedia Graphic Design and by Spring 2014, he’ll have an Associates in Physics. His goal is to synthesize physics in video games. He’s been editing and designing graphics for the new world headquarters' internal design.
Last week, Austin and Kenton represented DMS at the Pikes Peak Student Awareness and Career Expo, an event for the Pikes Peak Manufacturing Consortium - part of the weeklong celebration of National Manufacturing Day.
